Psalm 46

Psalm 46 is a favorite of mine. I remember what a comfort it was to me in 2001 when the World Trade Center's towers came down. The reassurance that no matter what ... God was Right There ... steadied me. How thankful I am for God's Word! You can listen to my thoughts below, and I sure would love to hear your thoughts if you would like to comment. May God bless and guide you as you study His Word this week! Read more »

You Be You and I’ll Be Me

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) I met her when I was 23 and admired her tremendously. She was always calm, always polite, always sailing slowly and unhurriedly through life. She never raised her voice. She listened more than she talked. She could sit quietly and observe a situation without feeling the need to interject her thoughts or opinions. She was gentle and quiet. She had a multitude of qualities I lacked. Me? I was seldom calm, easily excitable. Interrupted conversations in my eagerness to share my next thought. Constantly raised my voice in excitement, agitation, or passion. I was just loud. Talked more than I […] Read more »

Habakkuk 2:12-20

Happy Sunday!!  "This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!" I love Sundays. I hope God blesses you with some sweet moments of worship, today. Habakkuk 2:12-20 was a frightening reassurance that God IS on His throne and will punish all who do evil and who do not repent. I found it comforting, in a strange way. Watch the video, below, to hear my thoughts. I would love to hear your thoughts, so write them for me in the comments.   ... and have a lovely Sunday! Read more »

Habakkuk 2:1-11

Happy Saturday, ladies!! I don't know about you, but I approached Habakkuk with a bit of hesitancy. Yet, when I read Chapter 2:1-11, I was amazed at how much better I felt. God starts to give His answers, and I drank them up, learning from what He says to Habakkuk. What wonders God unfolds!  You can hear more by clicking on the video and, as always, comments are appreciated. (But the most important thing is that you are reading and writing and just "being" with your God!! Read more »

Psalm 39 - A Psalm for the Sad Days

Hello everyone, What a change! I read Psalm 32 yesterday and was overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude at God's great cleansing forgiveness. I read Psalm 39 today and entered in to David's misery. The video, below, discusses why I believe God placed psalms like these in His God-breathed Word. I'm going to share the verse I chose right here, today, and then follow it with my thoughts on the two "selah's" in this psalm: Psalm 39:2 "Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is."     Oh Father, I'm not as sure as David that I want to know how my life will end. I just want You to be very present […] Read more »

Psalm 32

Oh how I love this psalm! It's rich in teaching on the JOY ... yes JOY ... of Confession. When we come to God and admit our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse. Life is good again. Why oh why do we sometimes hide from Him and stay in that icky place longer than we need to? You can learn more about my thoughts on this by watching the video. I hope God blessed your reading of this psalm, today, dear one, as He did mine. Read more »

Psalm 4 - Add your comments on what verse YOU chose below.

Happy Monday, ladies! How are you enjoying reading the Bible with the "4 R" method? I hope He is speaking to you, richly, as you read. Take a moment to watch the video below. This keeps our study interactive.  May God bless you as you read His Word and hide it in your hearts. Read more »

Say Yes!

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT) I had already taken two walks that morning, so when Ray said, “Are you ready to hit the gym?” I wasn’t. I mean not at all. I was busy and tired and had no desire whatsoever to add a third exercise regime to my day. I was very tempted to say no and just stay home. At the same time, I knew Ray and I had only recently started the gym routine. Not to mention, he had worked all day teaching and really needed the exercise. I […] Read more »
