Do You Know the King?

“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’” —Matthew 25:11-12 NIV I don’t know King Charles III of England, although I surely know a lot about him. I know he married Diana when he was much younger, and they had two sons named William and Harry. Sadly, their marriage ended in divorce, and later, Diana perished in a dreadful automobile accident. He remarried Camilla and, by all accounts, seems happier in his second marriage. He lost his father a few years ago, and his mom died last year. That’s when he became king. I know he loves architecture and often enjoys fruit and granola for breakfast. He wrote […] Read more »

Walk, Stand, Sit

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper —Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV “Walk.” “Stand.” “Sit.” Sounds like puppy obedience classes. Through service dog puppy raising, “Haven” and […] Read more »

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. —Romans 12:14 NASB As I peered through the window from thirty-thousand feet in the air, the earth looked limitless. It seemed almost Heavenly. Dense water vapor swelled into white peaks that towered in the distance like a floating mountain range. But it wasn’t a mountain range. It wasn’t even solid ground. Therefore, what I perceived wasn’t real. Unfortunately, my perception often differs from reality—especially when dealing with difficult relationships. Nevertheless, I am convinced that God wants me to see things from His Heavenly perspective, particularly in times of conflict with other believers. For example, God’s Word says I am to bless the one who is persecuting me. That is not natural! Only in God’s economy […] Read more »

The Jesus Freak and The Atheist - An Easter Story

I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. —1 Corinthians 15:3-4 NLT I wasn’t the most popular kid in school. I loved talking, raised my hand a good deal in class, and read a ton of books. Gym was my least favorite activity, and the fact that I was often chosen last for a team indicates my athletic skill. Despite all this, I was in love with Jesus. I talked about Him … a lot. A few friends helped me start an after-school Bible study at […] Read more »
