Hello and Happy Sunday! I love the Lord's Day. I am writing this early, because I try to take a sabbath rest on Sundays. I did want to share with you, though, what God showed me from our reading today (even if I did read it early!) I actually chose two verses, as they are related, giving a visual of what it feels like when calamity hits unexpectedly. Habakkuk 1:14-15 "You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler. The wicked foe pulls all of them up with his hooks, he catches them in his net, he gathers them up in his dragnet; and so he rejoices and is glad." What a picture that makes! We can be […] Read more »

Happy Saturday! Were you able to find a verse in this section of Habakkuk? It's sad reading, isn't it? Habakkuk is not happy about the state of his world. I would suspect that most of you are not happy at the state of OUR world, today. In every age and season, there have been times when the wicked appear to be winning. I chose verse 2, today: "How long, O LORD, must I cry for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, 'Violence!' but you do not save?" You can click on this short video to hear why I chose this verse. Please share the verse you chose and why you chose it, below in the comments. I would love to […] Read more »
Introduction to Habakkuk

This is what we know: The name, Habakkuk, means embrace. Perhaps we can look at this book, filled with questions and frustrations at a wicked world as a Big Embrace, as Habakkuk takes us on his journey and asks God the hard things. Some people speculate that Habakkuk was part of the Levitical family. Specifically, one of the musicians who led worship. This is because Chapter 3 is written as a song. Habakkuk was written sometime between 612 B.C. and the fall of Jerusalem in 586 B.C. "And so the story of Habakkuk is the […] Read more »
Psalm 3 - Please Share Your Comments and Verse Below
Well. How was your first day of reading? I hope God spoke to you in amazing ways. Do remember: Always Read The Scripture First, before you read what I write, okay? I want you to look at it with fresh eyes, and then we will share with each other what we have learned. My sharing is below the video. Please DO add your comments to this. We'd love to know what God showed you as you came to Him today. I chose Psalm 3:5: "I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me." My thoughts and my prayer on that verse: David moves from what people are saying in verse 2, that "God will not deliver him" to praise of […] Read more »
