March 6 – Esther 10
Request: Lord, as I wrap up the story of Esther, show me the nuggets of truth you have for me. I don’t want to miss a single thing.
Read: Esther 10
Record: Record a key verse.
Respond: Write a prayer responding to God about the verse you just read. Let’s not just pick a verse and move on. Let’s interact with God about it.
Question to Ponder: Where in your life is God asking you to have the Holy Courage to speak the truth?
My Ponder:
Sometimes, the cost of a relationship can be what holds me back. Being a people person, that can be a big cost and deterrent for me. But I need to trust God and know that His prompting to me is because He wants to use me. I need to start being more open to hearing the Holy Spirit’s prompting to act and speak the truth, no matter the cost.
My verse: Esther 10:3, “For Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Ahasuerus, and he was great among the Jews and popular with the multitude of his brothers, for he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace to all his people.”
My Response: Lord, thank you for blessing Esther for her obedience. I see how you blessed far beyond just Esther. You saved her people, and you promoted Mordecai. Remind me of the victory and blessing that comes when we speak truth you are asking us to speak.

I have really enjoyed the deep dive into Esther and been so challenged to be thoughtful and prayerful in my truth-telling. Being courageous does not mean being angry or hateful. I’ve loved watching Mordecai and Esther handle difficulties with calm courage. That’s what I want. And I know it comes when I fast, pray, wait … on the Lord!
My verses are excerpts from Esther 10:2-3 ” … the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, whom the king promoted, are recorded … he (Mordecai) continued to work for the good of his people and to speak up for the welfare of all their descendants.”
My response: Faithful God, I’m struck by Mordecai’s faithfulness and steadiness of character. He never wavered from being Your man in times of distress nor in times of power and plenty. Help me to be unwavering in my love for You and my obedience to Your commands, both in suffering times and my own times of plenty.
