June 4. Proverbs 3

Welcome back for our second day studying Proverbs. I wish I didn’t have to skip ANY chapters, but in order to also take a peek at Song of Songs and Ecclesiastes as well as Solomon’s life, I had to make tough choices. I have always loved Proverbs 3, though. So, of course we needed to do this full and rich chapter. Did you find a nugget of truth in this chapter? More than one nugget? If you ever want to share what God has shown you, I welcome comments. 🙂

So … now that you’ve read and studied, have a look at my thoughts and what God showed me, today:

I chose Proverbs 3:17. This is one of many verses that describe wisdom. “Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.”

My Response: Father, thank You for the reminder that choosing wisdom is GOOD. Wisdom leads to pleasant living and peace. Wisdom is not violent or shady or nasty. This reminds me of one of my favorite verses in James: “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” (James 3:17) I love how Your Word “fits” together. Wisdom brings peace. Father, help me to live wisely! Help me to value all that is good and kind and peaceable. Thank You, Lord, for instructions that lead to blessing.  And peace.
