December 7 – Psalm 39

Jesus, our Savior King, we praise You for You are Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace!!!! We thank You for You secure our peace! We fall before You in worship and adoration. Draw near to us, Lord of all.

Oh, how I love this verse. This verse is full of trust, surrender, love, and faith in the future and in what God promises us. In Him, we wait. All that we have done that is good is because God has made it so. All that we have said that is good, is because God has made it so. We are to remember it is God who gives us our days, and we are duty bound to use every second for His good will.

When David’s restlessness and silence brought him turmoil and stress, when it burned and swelled and consumed him, it threatened to overtake him. God was ever present, and He reminded David that our days are numbered. They are short! So short that we ought not to
waste them on unrest and with burden eating away at us. When we cast our eyes on the hope of God, the Spirit rights our hearts.

Just as David hoped for the Messiah, so shall we. He is coming once again! He has not forgotten us! For we know we are sojourners, our home here is a temporary dwelling, and we can walk in hope. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus in these days, let us remember why He came. He came to earth for our sake. To die and rise again. He came to save us from the sin that has sentenced us to death. But Jesus… He has wiped that all away, and with grace and mercy, He has promised us new life!

My Verse: “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.” Psalm 39:7

My Response: Lord God, I praise You, for You are the sender of Hope. I thank You for Your Son, and I thank You for His birth; the promise fulfilled. That one day, we will no longer sojourn but be in Your presence.
