October 30 – Revelation 5:9-14
Dear Lord God, we come before You in worship and praise, for You are the orchestrator of Your creation. Be with us as we spend time with You, and guide us to what You want to show us.
What a glimpse into the worship in Heaven. HOW many angels were there? According to the New Living Translation, there were “thousands and millions of them.” Can you even imagine that number? One angel alone would frighten me half to death, and there are millions of them? And these huge, magnificent beings are all glorifying the One True God and His Son, Jesus. One God, three forms, the mystery of trinity. So. No matter how big I think God is … I’m wrong. He’s bigger!
I read the praises and the worship, and I feel the JOY. These songs, sung by angels and the twenty-four elders, are joy-filled. For our God is supremely good and wise and wonderful. And at the end of this age, there will be such great rejoicing as He ushers in the new one, for He made right all that was so wrong about our sin-infested planet. Someday, if you know Him, you and I will be there, witnessing praise that we can now hardly imagine. It might sound scary to me now, but I suspect once I’m there, the joy mixed with awe will be huge and satisfying and wonderful!
My verse: Revelation 5:9, “And they sang a new song with these words: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.”
My response: Thank You, Lord, that You call people from “every tribe and language and people and nation”! You so loved the world You sent Your Son. OH, how rich and high and deep and wide Your love is for the foolish people You made. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for salvation gained.
